ImTech4ED: Immersive Technologies for Education
Immersive technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, and digital games offer vast potential for enhancing education. However, their integration into educational settings has been limited due to the need for cross-disciplinary collaboration among key fields: game design, computer science, and teacher education. Currently, these areas have limited interaction, making it challenging to create widely applicable immersive solutions.
ImTech4Ed addresses this gap by fostering interdisciplinary and international collaboration among students, educators, and researchers. This project aims to:
- Deliver innovative prototypes for immersive educational tools.
- Foster interdisciplinary thinking across fields.
- Strengthen international and interdisciplinary cooperation.
- Test and evaluate prototypes in real classroom settings.
- Establish a network of interested collaborators and partners.
The project will produce methodological guidelines, a range of immersive educational prototypes tested in classrooms, supporting authoring tools, a professional development course for teachers, and specific STEAM-focused educational scenarios.
