European Youth Parliament (EYP)

At the English School, we are proud to support the European Youth Parliament (EYP), one of the largest platforms for political engagement and cultural exchange for young people across Europe. As an inclusive and empowering initiative, EYP encourages students to engage in critical discussions about pressing European and global issues, while fostering mutual respect, intercultural understanding, and active citizenship.

What is EYP?
The European Youth Parliament is a non-partisan and independent organization that connects thousands of young people from over 40 countries. Through its conferences and events, EYP provides participants with a unique space to deliberate on current challenges, develop resolutions, and simulate the decision-making processes of the European Parliament. It is a transformative experience that equips students with skills in diplomacy, critical thinking, negotiation, and public speaking.

Why Participate?
Participating in EYP offers our students the chance to:

  • Debate and learn: Dive deep into topics ranging from climate change to international relations, while expanding their knowledge of European policies and governance.
  • Collaborate and network: Connect with like-minded peers from all over Europe and build lasting friendships.
  • Develop essential skills: Gain experience in research, teamwork, leadership, and effective communication.
  • Shape the future: Amplify their voices on important matters and contribute to a better Europe through innovative solutions.

EYP at The English School
Our students have the opportunity to attend regional, national, and international sessions of EYP, where they will represent their school and community with pride. Guided by experienced mentors and teachers, they will learn to tackle complex issues and craft resolutions that reflect their creativity, passion, and commitment to positive change.

We invite all interested students to join us in embracing this exciting journey with EYP. Together, let us explore new perspectives, challenge our ideas, and work towards a more united and forward-thinking Europe.

European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS)

We are delighted to announce that our school is becoming a European Parliament Ambassador School. We will soon be part of a growing network of around 2000 certified European Parliament Ambassador Schools, 5000 teachers appointed as senior ambassadors and almost 35000 students as junior ambassadors that are learning, teaching and sharing the EU’s values.

The network offers schools a great opportunity to exchange best practices and cooperate in implementing the programme. The Ambassador Schools Network is part of a wider community cooperating with the European Parliament, notably via the platform together.eu. The network allows schools to be involved in a wide range of activities organised by the European Parliament, its Liaison Offices and its institutional partners and to connect with various European, national and local entities and civil society organisations.

Interested students will become Junior Ambassadors, who will promote discussion and learning about the EU, its members and institutions, its impact on our day-to-day lives and how they can influence it. They will do this by organising cultural events, debates and linking with other EPAS schools and colleges across the EU. Not only will this develop our students’ political knowledge, but it will also give these Junior Ambassadors great work experience – and skills for life – as researchers, project managers, event organisers, campaigners and promoters.
