eTwinning Projects at The English School

Inspiring Global Connections and Collaboration
eTwinning projects at The English School are an integral part of the Erasmus Clubs, offered to Year 1 and Year 2 students. These projects connect our students with peers from across Europe, promoting teamwork, cultural awareness, and digital literacy. Through interactive and engaging projects, students learn to communicate effectively, collaborate with international partners, and explore global and local challenges, preparing them to become active European citizens.

Our eTwinning Projects

Completed Projects

In Love with My Region (2021-2022)
This project focused on showcasing Cyprus and its rich culture. Students created Bitmojis to introduce themselves and prepared PowerPoint presentations about their school and traditional cuisine. They also recorded Greek Christmas songs, exchanged Christmas cards, and participated in a logo competition. The project culminated in an online book featuring the most significant landmarks of our region, celebrating the beauty of Cyprus.

Across Europe (2022-2023)
This collaboration between schools in France, Cyprus, Italy, and Turkey aimed to improve language skills and encourage students to explore and share their cultures. Through various activities, students were motivated to learn about other European traditions while sharing their own, fostering mutual respect and understanding.

Ongoing Projects

Let’s Be Tourist Guides (2023-2024)
In partnership with Austria, Italy, Lithuania, France, and Cyprus, this project introduces students to the culture and traditions of each partner country. Together, students create three tourist itineraries focused on nature, food, and history or myths/legends. They share their current and traditional lifestyles, use English to communicate, and improve their language skills while engaging in creative activities.

Travelling through European Stereotypes (2024-2025)
Schools from Cyprus, France, Greece, Portugal, Poland, and Turkey collaborate to explore European identity and challenge stereotypes. Students use sketchnoting techniques to communicate visually across language barriers, creating inclusive ways to share ideas. The project focuses on deconstructing stereotypes, fighting discrimination, and fostering mutual understanding. Students also form pen friendships and explore what it means to be a European citizen today.

The Climate and Us (2024-2025)
This project brings together schools from Italy, Greece, and Cyprus to address climate change. Students start with scientific knowledge on the causes and consequences of climate change, reflecting on its global and local impact. Through collaboration, they learn to connect science with action, exploring solutions to environmental challenges.

STEAM in Our Traditions (2024-2025)
A collaboration between Greece, Romania, Croatia, Spain, Cyprus, and Turkey, this project integrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into cultural traditions. Students explore traditional dances and recipes, combining creativity and technology to foster collaboration and cultural appreciation. Activities include online exchanges and collaborative tasks that highlight shared heritage while developing valuable skills.
