Our vision is to develop and promote the creative and critical abilities of students through the teaching of Greek, catering to both native and non-native speakers.

Aims for Students

Our department aims to:

  • Prepare students for public examinations by equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.
  • Enhance communication skills in Greek, both spoken and written.
  • Cultivate independent inquiry by teaching students to analyze and evaluate information, consider diverse perspectives, and support conclusions with sound reasoning and evidence.
  • Encourage creative thinking by guiding students to generate ideas, ask questions, consider alternative viewpoints, and adapt as circumstances change.
  • Promote reflective learning by helping students assess their strengths and areas for improvement, set achievable goals, monitor their progress, and seek feedback to further their growth.
  • Foster teamwork by building students’ confidence in working collaboratively, adapting to different contexts, and taking responsibility for their contributions.
  • Develop an appreciation of Greek Civilization, culture, and values, encouraging a deep understanding of Greek heritage.
  • Raise awareness of relevant issues concerning Cyprus, Greece, and global events.
