Founder's Day Prize Criteria
 
Special Prizes
The Niki Marangou Prize for Founder's Day 2022-23 criteria is shown below: 
  • Highest marks in year 6 End of Year Exams and UMS of Greek/Turkish in related A-level subjects - English Language, English Literature, Greek, Turkish, Art, History, Music. 
 
The "Christakis Loizou Prize" Christakis Loizou was the Board and School Accountant, part-time teacher, and Boarding Housemaster for 10 years. He is well-known for his love for the school and the precision and honesty with which he carried out his duties. The prize is given in memory of his late wife Maroulla Loizou.
Awarded to the student with Highest scoring in AS year 6 Business
 
The "Marios Christou Prize" Marios Christou was an English School graduate, parent of the school and Senior Partner at PWC who passed away suddenly in 2004. This prize is awarded by his family in his memory.
Awarded to the student with Highest scoring AS year 6 Economics
 
Ioanna Skordi founder's day prize: 
The prize will be given to a year 3 Non-native student (now in Year 4) who will be selected based on the following criteria: 
  • commitment to the subject 
  • continuous efforts 
  • progress 
  • participation in class
  • academic performance at internal and external exams
 
The “George Hadjigeorgiou Prize” The “George Hadjigeorgiou Prize” is given by ESSA to the student who scored the highest result in the Mathematics entrance exam in memory of our colleague George Hadjigeorgiou, who passed away suddenly in 2018.
 
In General
For project-based subjects (Art, DT, Music) the criteria is more holistic because of the nature of the subject. The best person to talk to for these subjects should be the HoD. 
 
For other subjects, in general the criteria are: 
 
Year groups with no external exam: the criteria is based on the EoY examinations
Year groups with an external exam: UMS scores
The number of awards allotted for each department depends on the size of the cohorts and therefore sometimes awards need to shift across year groups.
 
Turkish 
Years 2: Highest mark at the End of Year Examination and Academic excellence throughout the course
Years 3 and 4: Highest mark at the End of Year Examination and Academic excellence throughout the course
Year 5:  Highest UMS score in the CIE First Language IGCSE Turkish examination  and 2nd Highest UMS score in the CIE First Language IGCSE Turkish examination  
Year 6:  Highest average mark combined in Autumn and Spring Term reports and Highest average mark of the CAs
Year 7:  Highest UMS score in the Edexcel First Language AL Turkish examination
