Mathematics Enrichment Programme

At The English School, our Mathematics Department is dedicated to creating an environment that inspires and empowers students to reach new heights in their mathematical journey. The Mathematics Enrichment Programme, led by Mr. Andreas Demetriou, goes beyond the standard curriculum, focusing on advanced problem-solving skills and theorems. This programme is designed to enhance the abilities of students aiming to excel in national and European mathematics competitions.

Entry Criteria for Year 1 Maths Enrichment Programme:

Students can join the Year 1 Maths Enrichment Programme through one of the following pathways:

• 90% or above in the English School Maths Entrance Exam
  or
• 80% or above in the Entrance Exam plus an award in the District Maths Competition or Maths Olympiad in Year 6 of primary school.

Additional Entry Opportunities:

Students not initially selected for the programme but who perform well in the Maths District competition in November will be invited to join the school’s Maths Enrichment Programme.

Commitment and Participation

All students in the Maths Enrichment Programme commit to participating in CMS competitions and the school’s Mathletes Club, where they can further hone their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded peers.
