Together, they represent the interests of all students, ensuring your ideas and concerns are heard at every level.

Becoming a Form Representative and Member of the Advisory or Student Council

Student Voice is evolving this year with more structured opportunities for engagement, regular meetings, and a commitment to acting on constructive student initiatives.

Advisory Councils

These councils will provide a platform for elected Form Representatives to meet and discuss ideas for school improvement. Meetings will be held regularly and led by conveners announced in September.

  • Lower School Advisory Council: Years 1-3
  • Middle School Advisory Council: Years 4-5
  • Upper School Advisory Council: Years 6-7
  • Student Council: Comprising representatives from all three councils and the Student Leadership Team

Responsibilities of Members

Council members will:

  • Represent the views of their year group during meetings.
  • Participate in research, data collection, and proposal preparation.
  • Engage in active citizenship by addressing local, national, and global community issues.
  • Attend meetings with the SLT, Heads of Year, and Headmaster.
  • Serve as role models, upholding school policies and values.

Rules and Expectations for Council Members

Student Council and Advisory Council members are expected to:

  • Maintain exemplary conduct as ambassadors of the school.
  • Regularly consult with their peers and communicate updates via assemblies or form periods.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings; missing three meetings in a term without valid reasons may result in suspension.
  • Adhere to school policies, with any action discrediting the school leading to indefinite suspension.

This year, Student Voice is not just about raising concerns—it’s about building solutions, driving change, and empowering our students to lead with purpose. Together, let’s make 2024/25 a year of growth, collaboration, and meaningful impact.

Chain of Change: Making a Difference Together

Chain of Change (CoC) is a student-driven initiative at The English School Nicosia that focuses on raising awareness, funds, and practical support for important causes. CoC members are dedicated to building a fairer, more sustainable society through teamwork and volunteering.

As an independent committee, CoC oversees all charity efforts and activities within the school community. Its mission is to support various foundations and charities while fostering a sense of unity among students in the fight against poverty.

Our Purpose

In a world where those in need are often overlooked, Chain of Change challenges students to take meaningful action, no matter how small. By recognizing the issues around us, empowering others to act, and creating opportunities to make a difference, we aim to build a chain of hope and solidarity.

  • Acknowledgement sparks awareness.
  • Awareness invites unity.
  • Unity drives change.

Together, we can extend this chain and offer a helping hand to those who need it most.
