Antoinetta Skordi (Head of Department) Antoinetta Diola- Skordi was appointed at The English School in 2003 as a Business and Economics teacher. She has a BSc in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management (London School of Economics) and a PGCE Economics and Business Studies (Institute Of Education). In 1999 she achieved her UK NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher) Status. Antoinetta has previous experience at another private school in Cyprus (2 years) and in the UK (2 years). In the year 2000, she was awarded ‘Teacher Achievement’ prize from her UK school. She is responsible for the Economics Society ( Head of Department) and involved in delivering surgery revision lessons throughout the year. |

Maria Criticos Maria Criticos was appointed at The English School in 2008 as a Business and Economics teacher. She has a BSc in Applied Economics (University of East London) and an MSc in Finance and Investment (Brunel University) as well as a PGCE Economics, Accounting and Economics and Management Science (University of KwaZulu Natal South Africa). Maria has previous experience at another private school in Cyprus (2 years). She is involved in delivering revision lessons during study leave and surgeries throughout the year. Before going into teaching she worked as a trainee accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Cyprus) and in the Statistical Service of Cyprus as a member of the financial accounts team. |

Popi Grouta (Senior teacher in charge of Teaching and Learning and Educational Visits ) Ms Grouta started working at The English School in 1998, appointed as a Business and Economics teacher. She has a BSc Economics from Queen Mary College, as well as a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics (University of Surrey). Prior to her appointment at the English School, Ms Grouta worked for many years in other schools and has a rich experience in teaching AL Economics. Since 2008, she assumed the role of Head of Department for Economics and Business Studies, which she held until 2018, responsible for improving teaching and learning. At the same time, Ms Grouta was also actively running the Economics Society and was involved in support lessons for Year 6-7 Economics students. Since her appointment as Senior teacher in charge of Teaching & Learning, Ms Grouta has been mainly involved in the areas of assessment, marking and feedback aiming at improving the processes and quality of assessment and marking in order to drive student progress. She is also responsible for ensuring that syllabus delivery across departments is undertaken smoothly and that a well-structured revision programme is offered to the students. |

Demetris Moiseos Demetris Moiseos was appointed at The English School in 2017 as a Business and Economics teacher. He is a holder of a BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from EUC (European University, Cyprus) with specialisation in Economics and Finance. He is also a holder of the International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (IPGCE) from the University of Buckingham (UK). Demetris had previous experience in teaching Business and Economics at all levels for eleven years in various academic institutions including a private school, a college and a UK university (Wolverhampton). He is involved in delivering revision lessons during study leave and surgeries throughout the year. |

Christiana Nicolaou Christiana Nicolaou was appointed at The English School in 2017 as a Business and Economics teacher. She has a BA in Economics from Lancaster University. Christiana has prior experience of teaching economics at another private school (11 years) in Cyprus. She is actively involved in delivering revision lessons and surgeries to economics students all year round. |

Tryfonas Hadjichristoforou Tryfonas Hadjichristoforou graduated from The English School Nicosia in 2009; He has a BSc in Economics ( University of Essex) and MSc in Finance (University of Southampton). In 2019 he was appointed at the English School, as an Economics Teacher, with three years prior experience in another private school in Nicosia. Mr Hadjichristoforou teaches A-Level and IGCSE Economics and is actively involved in delivering revision lessons - surgeries throughout the year, as well as running the Economics Olympiad Club (of the Economics Society), preparing students to excel at the Pancyprian Economics Olympiad organised by the Pancyprian Organisation of Economics Teachers (PEKOM). |

Panayiotis Kkailas Panayiotis Kkailas has joined The English School as an Economics and Business Studies Teacher. He has a Ba in Economics from the University of Central Lancashire (UK) and an MSc in Economic History from the LSE. He is also a holder of the International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (IPGCE) from the University of Buckingham (UK). Mr. Kkailas has been working at another private school in Nicosia for 8 years and teaches AS and IGCSE Economics, as well as AL Business studies at the English School since 2019. Additionally, he is actively involved in delivering revision lessons throughout the year, he has joined the school’s teaching and learning community in 2021, and supports the Head of department in running the Senior Economics and Business extension society. In 2023 Mr. Kkailas joined the Middle School Pastoral team as a Head of Year. |
