Mariza Platritou graduated from The English School in 2000. She holds a BSc in Accounting & Finance from Warwick University and is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. For the years between 2003 and 2007, Mariza Platritou worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Ltd as an Assistant Manager in Audit & Assurance. In 2007, she was offered a position at the Central Bank of Cyprus, firstly as an Internal Auditor and from 2010 onwards within the Banking Supervision Division.

Within Banking Supervision, she was heavily involved in the restructuring of the banking system mainly serving within the Crisis Management section of Banking Supervision, dealing with the 2013 financial crisis, the comprehensive assessment exercise of 2014, the 2015 Greek financial crisis as well as with other major idiosyncratic Bank specific crisis throughout the years. Currently, she holds the position of Head of the On-site Inspections within the Banking Supervision Division of the Central Bank of Cyprus.
