Mr Constantinos Pitris

Constantinos Pitris is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the KIOS Center of Excellence and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus. Prof. Pitris has studied at the University of Texas at Austin (BS Honors and MS in Electrical Engineering, 1993 and 1995), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Ph.D. in Electrical and Medical Engineering, 2000), and the Harvard Medical School (MD Magna Cum Laude in Medicine, 2002).
He has joined the University of Cyprus in 2002 as one of the first members of the Faculty of Engineering where he contributed to the establishment of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, being involved in all aspects of curriculum and facilities development. He has coordinated competitive research grants totaling over € 7.2 mil, including a highly prestigious European Union Future and Emerging Technologies Open Grant, the first to be coordinated by Cyprus. He is also a highly cited scientific author with over 25 years of teaching and mentoring experience, at all levels of higher education.
