Michalis Pekris graduated from The English School in 1996. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Business Finance from University College London and a Master’s degree in Finance (MSc Finance) from the Imperial College London, Management School. In addition to his academic accomplishments, he has fortified his credentials with a Chartered Accountant Professional Qualification, and he is a Fellow member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus. In addition to his professional qualifications, he has earned postgraduate degrees from Cardiff Metropolitan University in both Law (LLM in Employment Law, Distinction) and Business Administration (MBA, Distinction), further enhancing his comprehensive expertise in business and finance.

With over two decades of experience in leadership roles within major financial organizations, Mr. Pekris has developed a deep understanding of strategic financial management, corporate governance, and international markets. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a multinational insurance company, where he oversees the company’s financial strategy, risk management, investments and long-term growth initiatives.

In addition to his corporate leadership, Mr. Pekris has made significant contributions to academia. He has served as an external associate of EY Academy of Business (EMEA) as well as the University of Cyprus, University of West London and the University of Nicosia, where he has taught specialized courses in Accounting and Finance for over 15 years. Throughout his academic career, he has trained professionals across the globe, ranging from aspiring accountants to seasoned board-level directors, providing them with the tools and knowledge to excel in the financial world.

His broad experience in both the corporate and academic spheres, along with his commitment to advancing the field of finance, makes him a respected authority in his industry.

Mr. Pekris is a member of the Board of Management of The English School Nicosia, a member of the Board of Directors for a Listed Investment Company in Cyprus and a member of the Board of Directors for a non-listed Multinational AIF company.
