Founder's Day Prize Criteria

Biology and Science 

In each year group, Founders Day prizes are awarded in the autumn term to our highest achievers for outstanding performance in the subject for the previous academic year. It is a recognition of hard work and achievement. 

These prizes are highly contested, and the “smaller than small” make the difference among many of our prize winners. In the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, Michael Phelps won the 100-meter butterfly by 1/100th of a second. Similarly, this applies to many of our prize winners who have achieved a prize by a fraction of a decimal. 


Criteria used for student nominations are as follows: 

Lower School Science 
  • Current Year 2- Students obtaining the highest scores in the End-of-Year 1 science examination  
  • Current Year 3- Students obtaining the highest scores in the End-of-Year 2 science examination  
  • Current Year 4- Students obtaining the highest scores in the End-of-Year 3 science examination  

Biology 
  • Current Year 5- Students obtaining the highest scores in the End-of-Year 4 biology examination 
  • Current Year 6- Students obtaining the highest UMS scores in the Pearson IGCSE examination results 
  • Current Year 7- Students obtaining the highest UMS scores in the Pearson IAS examination results
