What’s On
Maria Christodoulou, making her debut as starting goalkeeper, proved to be a formidable force between the posts. Her timely saves thwarted numerous attempts from the Anorthosis forwards, contributing significantly to the team's solid defensive line.
Prior to this match, only three teams had managed to contain Anorthosis's dangerous attacking line: Apoel, Olympiacos, and Paphos. Now, with their resilient defensive display, the English School joins this exclusive group, further solidifying their status as a top contender in the league.
Leading the defensive charge were Victoria, Irene, and Popi, who formed a formidable backline, effectively shutting down Anorthosis's offensive threats. In midfield, Maria and Emily tirelessly covered every inch of the pitch, ensuring seamless connectivity between defense and attack.
At the forefront of the team's attacking efforts were Anna Maria H, Nayia, and Kyveli, whose skillful play and creative flair continuously tested the Anorthosis defense, creating scoring opportunities throughout the game.
Despite the absence of goals, the match was a testament to the team's unity, determination, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Each player contributed to a flawless team performance, earning another valuable point in their journey up the league table.
The U15 girls' team lineup for the match included Maria Christodoulou in goal, with Irene Yianna captaining the side. Victoria Georgopoulou, Popi Koumenidis, Emily Nicolaou, Maria Leandrou, Nayia Stephanou, Kyveli Matsi, Anna Chatzantona, Nadia Cagnetti, Alessandra Coll Gabrielides, and Anna Maria Menelaou rounded out the squad, each playing a crucial role in the team's success.
As they continue to push forward in the league, the U15 girls' team at the English School remains a force to be reckoned with, showcasing their talent and determination with each match they play.

Celebrating Success: ES EYP Club Shines at Model European Parliament
Model European Parliament offers a platform for students to simulate the workings of the European Parliament, focusing on crucial issues such as Citizenship and Education, Development, Technology and Research, as well as Legal and Constitutional matters. Our students actively participated in committees, deliberated on resolutions, and contributed to shaping policies reflecting European cooperation and unity values.
Marielena Kyriacou, a Year 5 student, shared her thoughts on the experience: "Participating in the National Session of the Model European Parliament was truly enlightening. From engaging debates to meaningful discussions, the session provided valuable insights into the complexities of European governance. What stood out to me the most was the camaraderie and personal growth I experienced throughout the event."
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Virginia Rengel and Xenia Konstantinou, the ES European Youth Parliament Club coordinators, for their tireless efforts in mentoring and guiding our students. Their commitment to nurturing student leadership and fostering a spirit of collaboration is truly commendable.
The participation of our ES EYP Club members in the Model European Parliament reflects our school's commitment to providing enriching opportunities for student growth and development. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to their continued success in future endeavours.
Join us in celebrating their success and commitment to excellence!
Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders – Our Students Shine at the Anatolia College Model United Nations Conference
A delegation of enthusiastic and dedicated Year 4 and 5 students attended the 19th Anatolia College Model United Nations Conference (ACMUN) in Thessaloniki on 16th-18th February.
Over the course of three days, students had a unique opportunity to conduct research, collaborate in developing resolution policy proposals, engage in diplomatic debates and thus gain insights into the complexities of international relations and the workings of the United Nations.
We are proud of the overall performance, with honourable standouts including Sotiris Efstathiou, Year 5, being preselected as chairperson to co-lead the specialised committee of ECOSOC; Michalis Psomas Year 5, being selected as best delegate within his committee; Nicoletta Christophorou and Eleni Ktori Year 5 having their clauses selected for the final General Assembly resolution and for their superb delivery of position speeches.
In Thessaloniki, students not only engaged in formal committee sessions but also had the chance to connect with peers from around Europe, forging lasting friendships and networks. They particularly enjoyed group dinners and activities, ensuring a fun and memorable trip for all.
