Junior Boys Basketball Team Clinches 3rd Place in Nicosia Competition

The Journey to Victory
The path to this notable accomplishment was filled with moments of intense competition, thrilling victories, and learning experiences. In the final stretch of the tournament, our team faced off against the Grammar Sports School, enduring a challenging match that ended with a score of 37-57. Despite this setback, our boys showcased resilience and determination.

A highlight of their journey was the impressive victory against Gymnasium Makedonitissas, where our team triumphed with a score of 57-42, demonstrating their offensive and defensive prowess on the court. Another notable moment was the heart-stopping match against Gymnasium Engkomis Sports School on March 12th, which extended into extra time and concluded with a narrow score of 37-41.

Despite the challenges of a tight schedule right after a demanding exam period, our seasoned Parade Team members resumed their commitment with remarkable dedication. They were joined by fresh enthusiasm from the 7th and 5th Form students, who quickly rose to the occasion, mastering the routines with impressive zeal.

This year, our team proudly comprised 56 dedicated students who marched with precision and grace. Their collective efforts culminated in a display of unity and excellence, honouring the school's traditions in front of a crowd of supportive parents, friends, and onlookers.

Hockey Week: 2nd-6th April 2024

Our goal with this initiative is to support Coach Neophytos and encourage more interest in hockey at our school. With a particular focus on our Year 1 students, who have been diligently mastering the sport during their Physical Education lessons, we aim to cultivate a passion for hockey that extends beyond the field.

To celebrate this resurgence and nurture talent, we have meticulously planned an exhilarating lineup of activities for Hockey Week:

Year 1 Hockey Development – Drills and Mini-Games

  • Tuesday, 2nd April: Periods 1 & 2: 1 White and 1 Yellow
  • Tuesday, 2nd April: Periods 5 & 6: 1 Jade and 1 Red
  • Thursday, 4th April: Periods 5 & 6: 1 Black and 1 Green

Inter-House Hockey Tournament

  • Thursday, 4th April: Junior Boys
  • Friday, 5th April: Junior Girls

Salakian Hockey Trophy – 2nd Round

  • Saturday, 6th April: The English School Vs ESOBGA
