In the Junior Boys category, Timothee Alkis Serrurier secured an impressive second place in the 300m Hurdles, while Nikolas Alexandrou Taliotis claimed fourth place in the same event. Christos Michael showcased his skills in the 100m Hurdles and secured the third position, while Constantinos Stavrou came fourth in the same event. Philippos Shiakallis and Leonidas Eleftherios Graves demonstrated their talent in Discus, securing the fifth and sixth positions, respectively. The Junior Boys Team also secured an impressive third place in the 4x100m Relay.

Sophia Nathanael was the star of the show as she claimed the first position in the 300m race, securing her qualification for the Pancyprian. Evangelia Rouvi also demonstrated an impressive performance in the 300m hurdles and qualified for the Pancyprian.

The Junior Girls' relay team secured the second position and earned their spot in the Pancyprian. Mavroudi Kyriaki put up a fantastic performance in the javelin, securing the second position and qualifying for the Pancyprian. Hajigeorghi Katerina also secured her qualification with her second position in Discus.

Georgiou Alexandra demonstrated her skills in the 80m hurdles and secured the third position, while Maria Christina Economidou came fourth in the same event. Panayides Anna and Demetriade Nefeli secured the fifth position in the 600m race and Javelin, respectively, earning their spot in the Pancyprian.

Evita Charalambous and Stavrides Katerina came fifth in the Discus and High Jump, respectively. At the same time, Vasiliou Elia and Matsi Kyveli secured the sixth and seventh positions in the shot put and 1000m race, respectively. Diaouri Nefeli and Kyprianou Maria Christina secured the eighth position in the 600m and 1000m race, respectively.

All the athletes showcased their immense talent and hard work. They displayed their passion for athletics and their determination to succeed. We wish all the qualified athletes the best of luck in the upcoming Pancyprian. We are sure that they will continue to make us proud and achieve great success.

The competition was fierce, with participants from various schools competing in different track and field events. The atmosphere was electrifying as parents, teachers, and friends cheered on the young athletes. The first day saw our junior students excel in the Triple Jump category.

Myra Ioanna from 3W secured the first position with an outstanding jump, showing excellent technique and coordination. She was followed closely by Eleni Kirmizis from 2B, who grabbed the second position with an impressive jump. Katerina Hajigeorgh from 2J came second in discuss. 

The school management and the PE Department congratulate all the young athletes who participated in the competition. We are immensely proud of their performance, and they have made the school community proud too. Their hard work and dedication have paid off, and we look forward to their success in the upcoming track events tomorrow.

The finals for the track events will take place tomorrow, and we wish our students the best of luck. The entire school community is behind them, cheering them on, and we are confident that they will give their best and make us proud once again.

Our students performed outstandingly, securing top positions in various events. In the Senior Boys category, Christos Economides clinched 1st place in the 110m Hurdles, while Nikolas Lees took 1st place in the Pole Vault. Evangelos Petasis secured 1st place in the 200m event, demonstrating his exceptional speed and agility.

In the Senior Girls category, Artemis Spyridoula Riga emerged as the star performer, taking 1st place in the 100m Hurdles event and 2nd place in the 4x400m relay, along with Andrea Ioanna Georgiou, Antonia Rodhia, and Ioanna Lees. Steleana Anastasiou also demonstrated her prowess in Javelin, securing 3rd place for the Senior Girls' team.

The English School athletes continued to impress, with Pavlos Achilleos securing the 2nd place in the Senior Boys 800m event, Georgios Vasilopoulos securing 3rd place in the Senior Boys High Jump, Andreas Panayides securing the 4th place in the Senior Boys Hammer event, and Chrysanthi Rokopou taking the 5th place in the Senior Girls 800m event.

In response to this growing need for language skills, The English School's institute, The English Institute is proud to offer A1 courses in French, Spanish, and German for beginner-level students aged 11 to 14 years old. The courses will commence in September 2023, and registrations are now open. It is worth noting that French, German, and Spanish lessons are offered at The English School from Year 2 onwards, making this an excellent opportunity for incoming Year 1 students in the 2023/2024 academic year to register for language lessons.

The English Institute has a team of fully experienced language teachers who have achieved excellent results in the past. The courses are designed to provide a friendly environment where students can receive individual attention in small classes. The methodology adopted encourages progress towards fluency in the target language.

The lessons are fun and engaging, with activities such as songs, games, and other interactive exercises. After two years of study, students will receive an A1 certification, which will be a valuable asset when pursuing further language studies.

The English Institute also offers visits to local events, exhibitions, and competitions, which help students to immerse themselves in the language and culture of the countries they are studying. Additionally, the Institute provides advice on further language studies at the university and beyond.

During the presentation, the students learned about the various European countries, their cultures, and the education system. Ms Constantinides, who has lived and studied in various European countries, shared her experiences and gave valuable tips to the students on how to adjust to living and studying in a foreign country.
 
The presentation was part of the school's PSCHE (Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education) program, which aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to lead successful and fulfilling lives.
 
Both Ms Popi Grouta and Ms Shura Economou are very grateful to Ms Vanessa Crambert, Ms Stalo Achilleos and Ms Stephanie Constantinides for their contributions to the PSCHE program.  Our students were engaged and enthusiastic throughout the presentation, and we believe that they gained a lot of valuable insights that will serve them well in the future.

This followed the successful participation of the student businesses of our Students in the Junior Achievement Cyprus Student Business Exhibition held on March 19, 2023.

Mr Leventis was impressed with the Aquafy students' product that can separate impurities found in water within minutes while also disinfecting it from bacteria and viruses. He mentioned that the Leventis Foundation is eager to support promoting the product in African communities after the necessary laboratory tests have confirmed its suitability.

The A.G. Leventis Foundation has been active in promoting sustainable development and environmental protection on a global scale. Mr Leventis commended the Aquafy students for their initiative to develop activities based on profit and ethical values. He advised them to work hard, stand firmly on the ground, and proceed humbly. He also emphasized the importance of family values and human resources development from within.

The coordinators of the ESJA Club, Ms Elena Michael and Ms Elena Constantinou, expressed their gratitude to Mr Leventis and Ms Hatzigavriil for their contributions. They also thanked Ms Maria Leign, Mr David Lambon, Ms Anna Tellalis, and Mr Paris Cleanthous of the Parents Association for their continuous support of activities promoting entrepreneurship, skills development, and personal growth of the students.

The Aquafy students have shown that they are not only concerned about profit but also about creating products that can make a difference in people's lives. Their commitment to ethical values has earned them recognition from the President of the A.G. Leventis Foundation. Their success serves as an inspiration to other student businesses and entrepreneurs who are looking to create a positive impact on the world.

Blackout poetry is a form of poetry that involves selecting words or phrases from an existing text and blacking out the remaining text on the page. The result is a new poem that is created using the words that have been selected.

Our Year 3 students were tasked with selecting a poem from their unit on war poetry and identifying keywords or phrases that spoke to them. They then used these words to create their own poem by blacking out the remaining text on the page.

The end result was a beautiful and thought-provoking display of individual interpretations of the original poem. The students' creativity and imagination were on full display during this activity. It was wonderful to see them engaging with and exploring the world of poetry uniquely and meaningfully.

We are proud of our students for their hard work and dedication, and we are thrilled to share their wonderful work with the world. The team played an outstanding game, showing exceptional basketball skills, great spirit, and teamwork. The final score was 42-20 in favour of our team.

This victory marks the second win for our Junior Girls’ Basketball team in the competition. The team has been working tirelessly to improve their skills and tactics, and their hard work has paid off in their impressive performance on the court.

The team comprises ten talented players: Nathanael Sophia Lydia, Demetriade Artemis, Theophilide Penny, Koronaki Yakinthi, Kirmizis Eleni, Gavrielidou Ismini, Sophia Kapiri, Kypreou Paola, Veronica Demetriou, Moria Efrosyni and Leandrou Maria all of whom played a crucial role in the team’s victory.

The team’s success would not have been possible without the dedication and guidance of our coaches, Rafaella Neokleous and Andreas Sizopoulos. Their expertise and encouragement have helped our players improve their skills and succeed on the court.

We are incredibly proud of our Junior Girls’ Basketball team for their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship. Their exceptional performance in the competition has been a testament to their talent and dedication to the sport. We wish them the best of luck as they progress in the competition, and we know they will continue to make us proud.
