He graduated from the University of Cambridge and holds a degree in Economics from Saint Catherine's. Currently, he works as a partner at PWC Cyprus, specializing in private clients and corporate governance.
Mr Maroudias spoke about 'A Life in Economics', and our students found it incredibly enlightening.

Student Athletes Award Ceremony
Christos Ashiotis (ESL 2022) dominated the 400m, Christos Economides (Year 6) conquered the 110m Hurdles, Evangelos Petasis (Year 4) dominated the 200m, and Andrea Ioanna Georgiou (Year 4) dominated the 400m. These individuals have excelled not only in their athletic pursuits but also in their studies. A true testament to their dedication and hard work. Congratulations to these exceptional student-athletes!
Mathematical Pancyprian competition results
These talented students will now progress to the next round, where they will have the opportunity to participate in the 1st Selection Competition for the prestigious international mathematics competitions JBMO, BMO, EGMO, MYMC, and IMO. The competition will take place on January 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Pedagogical Institute in Nicosia. In preparation for this next stage, the students are also invited to attend the preparation lessons organized by CMS, starting January 14, 2023. Well done to all participants for their dedication and hard work in the competition.

Afternoon Games – 15th December 2022
In the Year 2 Volleyball Tournament, Newham and Kitchener emerged as the winners in the semifinals against Wolseley and Beaconsfield, respectively. In the Inter-House Softball Tournament, Kitchener emerged as the winner with a score of 7-0, capitalizing on some issues that Wolseley faced in drafting their team.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants! In addition to the Inter-House Competitions, students also participated in a variety of other sporting activities, including basketball, futsal, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, tennis, health and conditioning, handball, table tennis, circuit training, and more.
Quantum Nicosia Marathon
A total of 27 students participated in the event, with 26 students running the 5K race and 1 participating in the 7.7-mile race. They were joined by 7 staff members, with 2 competing in the 5K race and 5 running in the 7.7-mile race.
The weather was nearly perfect for the event, and many of the participants were able to improve their personal best times. Philip Georghiades coordinated the participation of the students and staff, and we would like to extend our thanks to him for his efforts.

Afternoon Games – 9th December 2022
There were some exciting matches, with particularly close scores in the Year 1 Basketball tournament. In the Final, Wolseley narrowly defeated Newham 16-14, while Kitchener earned 3rd Place after beating Beaconsfield 10-8 in the 3rd/4th Place Match. The Year 3 Football tournament also had some thrilling moments, with the Final ending in a 0-0 draw. Kitchener ultimately won the penalty shootout against Beaconsfield with a score of 3-2. Wolseley secured 3rd Place after defeating Newham 5-2.
In addition to the Inter-House Competitions, students also participated in various other sports, including volleyball, softball, futsal, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, handball, table tennis, and circuit training.

In the Year 1 Basketball Final, Wolseley won decisively over Kitchener with a 35-16.
Meanwhile, Beaconsfield performed admirably to secure 3rd Place after defeating Newham 14-6. The Year 3 Football Final ended in a thrilling 2-2 tie, with Beaconsfield claiming victory by winning the penalty shootout 6-5. In the 3rd/4th Place Match, Newham easily secured the win with a 2-0.

Special Olympics Day Floorball Matches
In addition to our own students, the tournament featured teams from the School for the Deaf and the Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation, all coming together to showcase the values of equality and inclusivity through the exciting sport of Floorball.
Our team represented The English School with distinction, not only on the field but also in their gracious gestures of presenting T-shirts to the students of the School for the Deaf that participated in the event. It was a truly memorable experience for all involved, as our students had the opportunity to bond with their peers through the joy of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Our team consisted of Year 2 and 3 athletes: Alexandrou Taliotis Nicolas, Georgallis Constantinos, Heraclides Nikolas, Tseriotis Alexandros, Veletinas Alexandros, Kirmizis Eleni, Iacovou Antrea, Nathanael Sophia Lydia, Ilarionos Marios, and Andreas Papandreou. Coach: Mr Andy Ioannou.
