A Thrilling Victory in the Knockout Stage
In a nail-biting knockout stage match, the team faced the formidable Forum Sports School. With just seconds remaining on the clock, they secured a dramatic 3-2 victory, earning their well-deserved spot among the top 10 futsal teams in Nicosia. The team’s perseverance and tactical play were key to this memorable win.
A Hard-Fought Battle in the Next Round
Advancing to the next round, the boys faced Lykion Acropolis in a challenging encounter. Despite their relentless efforts and unwavering determination, they narrowly missed victory, with a final score of 3-1. Though their journey in the competition ended there, their hard work, unity, and sportsmanship shone brightly throughout the tournament.

Year 6 Business Students Gain Real-World Insights at Ocean Basket Visit
The visit offered students a unique opportunity to explore the inner workings of a multinational business. They learned about the history of Ocean Basket and its successful business model. Key discussions focused on critical business concepts such as Human Resource Management and Marketing Strategy, topics they have studied for their IAS exams.
Beyond the academic discussions, students observed firsthand how these business strategies are implemented in a real-world setting. Engaging directly with professionals, they connected classroom theory with practical applications in a dynamic business environment.
To top off the experience, the students enjoyed a delightful lunch provided by Ocean Basket, enhancing the welcoming and educational atmosphere of the visit.
The students expressed great satisfaction with the experience, finding it both informative and enjoyable. The school extends its gratitude to Ocean Basket for hosting this valuable learning session.

These results reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, supported by the Enrichment Program introduced in 2022. Their achievements have placed The English School at the forefront of Mathematics excellence in Nicosia, contributing to over 30% of students progressing from a single school to the Nationals.
Year 5 Students Explore English A-Level Options
The session highlighted two distinct pathways: English Literature IAL and English Language IAL, offering a comprehensive overview of each course’s content, the skills students can develop, and potential career prospects.
Year 6 students shared their personal experiences, emphasizing the enriching nature of studying English at an advanced level. They detailed how the courses have helped them build critical thinking, analytical writing, and creative communication skills—attributes highly valued in many career fields such as journalism, law, publishing, and education.
Teachers from the English Department also elaborated on how each course nurtures a deeper understanding of language and literature while fostering intellectual curiosity and self-expression.
The event left Year 5 students inspired and better informed, ready to consider how English A-Level courses can align with their academic interests and future aspirations.
