ES EYP Club Shines at the National Model European Parliament Session
Our students engaged in fruitful debates and discussion on European matters addressing crucial issues ranging from Citizenship and Education to Technology and Research.
The Model European Parliament is a leadership programme for youths in the 27 EU member states, in candidate and applicant as well as guest countries. The aim of the MEP is to educate young people at high school level about European integration and cooperation, and to develop their understanding of common issues as well as provide them with knowledge about EU institutions. The programme develops political awareness and an understanding for Europe’s cultural diversity.
Marielena Kyriacou our English School MEP Ambassador held the position of a Committee President during the session, guiding new MEP delegates through debates, lobbying and discussions while four of our Year 5 EYP ES Club members including Nicolas Alexandrou Taliotis, Anna Maria Menelaou, Sophia Doris Kalochoritis and Chariton Charitonos attended the session as delegates.
Two of our Year 5 students were selected to attend interviews after being recommended by their Committee Presidents for their performance during the session, with Anna Maria Menelaou being selected to attend to the EuroMediterranean MEP session in Madrid 4 – 8 April, 2025.
We are very proud for our students' efforts during the MEP session and for seizing opportunities offered to them as part of their involvement of the EYP ES Club.
