Students Showcase their Musical Talents at Arts Week

We had the honour of listening to some of our most talented students perform on stage. Eleni Christodoulou on vocals from 5G, Dikaios Dikaiakos on electric guitar from 4J, Gerasimos Panayides on electric guitar from 3R, Kyriakos Avraam on bass from 3J, and Konstantinos Trigkas on drums from 2B, each took to the stage to showcase their musical prowess.

The audience was treated to some incredible performances, including renditions of "Careless Whisper" by George Michael and "Still Loving You" by Scorpions. The students' musical talents were truly impressive, and it was amazing to see them perform with such confidence and skill.

The performances were a reminder of the importance of music education in our schools, and the value of providing our students with opportunities to showcase their talents. The students' performances were a testament to their hard work and dedication, and we are proud of all of them.

In conclusion, Arts Week was a time for our students to shine, and they certainly did not disappoint. The musical performances were a highlight of the week, and we are grateful for our talented students who shared their gifts with us.

Celebrating the Arts – A Recap of Arts Week 2023

The week started with the Art Exhibition in the science building, which showcased the impressive artistic talents of our students. The creativity and originality on display were truly inspiring, from paintings and drawings to sculptures and mixed media pieces.

The Music Concert in the Hall featured ensembles and soloists who captivated the audience with their musical prowess. The week was filled with break performances, including a fantastic band presentation at Sports Day.

Our art students were busy working on the Arts Week mural, which showcased the theme of "Seasons of Love." They also sold creative glasses that were a big hit to everyone who saw them.

The week's highlight was undoubtedly the performance of our devised musical, "A Little Bit of Love," at Theatro Dentro. The students' talent and dedication were evident in every moment of the show, and it was a fantastic way to end the week.

We want to thank all of our talented students for inspiring us through their art and spreading love throughout the school. Arts Week 2023 was a resounding success, and we are proud of all our students who participated.

In conclusion, Arts Week 2023 was a celebration of creativity, talent, and hard work. We thank our students, staff, and parents for their support and participation and look forward to continuing to nurture and showcase our students' artistic talents.

Year 1-3 Students Showcase Their Talents at Art Exhibition

The exhibition was open to parents, teachers, and fellow students, who were all amazed by the talent on display. The exhibition was a great opportunity for our students to develop their self-confidence, creativity, and artistic skills, and we are proud of all our students who participated.  The art exhibition was organized by our dedicated art teachers, celebrating Arts Week, and we are grateful for the guidance and support to our students throughout the creative process.

Year 1 Students Spread Festive Cheer with Christmas Decorations

In the run-up to Christmas, all Year 1 form groups participated in a Christmas Decorations competition, with each group bringing their unique touch to the festivities.

The competition was a chance for our students to showcase their enthusiasm and creativity, and they did not disappoint. From wreaths on the doors to twinkling fairy lights, Christmas trees to snowflakes, fireplaces (not real, for obvious reasons!), to stockings, each form group brought their unique flair to the competition.

The atmosphere in the building has been transformed, with the sound of Christmas songs and decorations at every turn. The competition has not only brought festive cheer to our students but has also given them an opportunity to work together as a team and showcase their individual talents.

The competition was judged by a panel of teachers, who had the difficult task of selecting the winners. However, each group received recognition for their efforts, and all participants were commended for their creativity and hard work.

The Year 1 Christmas Decorations competition has been a resounding success, and it is a testament to the spirit of the holiday season. We are proud of our Year 1 students and thank them for spreading festive cheer throughout the school.

In conclusion, the Christmas Decorations competition has brought a much-needed dose of festive cheer to our school. We are grateful to our Year 1 students for their hard work and creativity and look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the new year. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Mr Karantonis from Hellas Sat Visits Our School for Advanced Science Presentation

The presentation was of an advanced level and was informative and engaging for all attendees.

During the presentation, Mr Karantonis elaborated on the transfer orbit and the launch phase of a geostationary satellite. He also discussed the voyage to the geostationary orbit and provided information about the various systems of a fully operational satellite. Students were able to learn about the importance of geostationary satellites and their role in communication and navigation.

Additionally, Mr Karantonis discussed the ground stations in Cyprus and Greece which support satellite missions. He provided fascinating insights into the inner workings of these stations and the crucial role they play in supporting satellite missions.

Our students were captivated by Mr Karantonis's presentation, and they had the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the topic. We are grateful to Hellas Sat for providing such a unique and educational opportunity for our students.

As a result of the presentation, our students have developed a newfound appreciation for the work that goes into launching and operating geostationary satellites. We hope to visit the Cyprus ground station in the future and continue to learn more about this exciting field.

Students Excel at Pancyprian Table Tennis Competition

The competition saw some of the School table tennis players from across the country compete, and our students did not disappoint.

Christakis Xibo Galatis put on an impressive display, qualifying in the top 16 junior boys players. His skill and determination were evident throughout the competition, and we are proud of his accomplishment.

Deanna Peng also performed excellently, finishing 2nd place in the Senior Girls Table Tennis Competition. Her exceptional skills and commitment to the sport were displayed, and we couldn't be prouder of her achievement. Deanna's hard work and dedication to table tennis have paid off, and we know she will continue to achieve great things.

Elias Kirmizis also gave a great performance, showcasing his talent and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Although he did not secure a place, we are proud of his efforts and congratulate him on representing our school with pride and professionalism.

Overall, the excellent performance of our table tennis team members at the Pancyprian Table Tennis Competition is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing what the future holds for our talented athletes.

The results above demonstrate our students' hard work and dedication to their training. We are incredibly proud of all our students who participated in the competition and congratulate them on their achievements.

One standout performance was by Soteris Petrou, who achieved an impressive 2nd place in the Senior Boys 200m Butterfly. His dedication to training and his passion for swimming was evident throughout the competition, and we are proud to have him as part of our swimming team.

The competition, which saw schools from all over the country compete, was a chance for our students to showcase their swimming skills, and they did so with flying colours. 

Another impressive result was achieved by Orpheas Vasiloudes Bayadas, who finished 2nd in the Senior Boys 200m Breaststroke. Orpheas is an exceptional swimmer who consistently demonstrates his natural talent and hard work in the pool. We are excited to see what the future holds for him.

In conclusion, our students represented our school with pride and professionalism during the Pancyprian Swimming Schools Competition. Their impressive results show their hard work, dedication, and love for the sport.

​Junior Girls’ Volleyball and Softball Tournaments Kicks off English School Sports Facilities

The event saw students compete in an exciting and competitive atmosphere, with many showcasing their athletic abilities and sportsmanship.

The afternoon games started with the semifinals of the Year 2 Volleyball Tournament. The first match saw Wolseley defeat Newham with a 2-0 set score of 9-15 and 8-15. The second match was just as intense, with Beaconsfield beating Kitchener with a 2-0 set score of 15-8 and 15-6. The winners of both games advanced to the finals, where they would compete for the Year 2 Volleyball Championship title.

Following the volleyball matches, the Inter-House Softball Tournament commenced, with Kitchener and Newham facing off. Kitchener's impressive performance resulted in a dominant win with a score of 14-2, securing their spot in the final round of the tournament.

Aside from the volleyball and softball championships, the students also participated in various sporting activities, including basketball, futsal, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, tennis, handball, table tennis, and circuit training. These activities provided a fun and competitive environment for the students to showcase their skills and engage in healthy physical activity.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Junior Girls' Volleyball and Softball Tournaments, as well as the other sporting activities. The event was a great success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the students and staff who organized and participated in the event. We look forward to seeing more exciting and competitive events in the future.

Houston Rockets Junior NBA Team Advances to Top 8 of Cyprus Basketball Competition

The team played in Group C in the Western Conference, winning 3 out of 4 games against tough opponents, including Engomi Sports School, Agios Dometios Gymnasium, Senior School, and Agios Ioannis Chrysostomou Gymnasium. Their hard work, discipline, and passion for the game have paid off and earned their place among the top teams in the competition.

"Our players have shown outstanding performance and teamwork throughout the competition," said Andy Ioannou, one of the team's coaches. "They have worked incredibly hard, and their commitment to excellence has been inspiring."

The Houston Rockets Junior NBA Team members include Gavrielidou Ismini, Kapiri Sophia, Koronaki Yakinthi, Kypreou Paola, Azar Gabriel, Savvas Savvas, Heraclides Savvas, Ioannou Antonios, Pastalosavvis Giorgos, Katsambas Antreas, Yiallouros Christian, Serrurier Marinos, and Elia Alexandros. Their skills and teamwork have been exceptional, and we are confident they will continue to excel in the next round of the competition.

We are proud of our players and coaches for their hard work and dedication. They are a true testament to the power of teamwork, discipline, and passion, and we wish them all the best in the next round of the competition.

We would also like to recognize the hard work and dedication of our coaches, Andy Ioannou and Andreas Sizopulos. Their guidance and expertise have been crucial to the team's success, and we are grateful for their commitment to our players.

In conclusion, we would like to congratulate our Junior NBA Team, the Houston Rockets, on advancing to the top 8 teams of the Cyprus Junior NBA Basketball Competition. Their performance has been outstanding, and we are excited to see what the next round of the competition will bring. Go Rockets!
