Triumph of Determination: Our Team’s Journey to Winning the High School Mock Trial Semi-Finals and Finals

Our exceptional team members include the brilliant minds of Lara Corkhill Y7, Lara Wilks Y7, Kyriaki Pifani Y6, Joanna Makriyianni Y6, and Kaiyane Chouldjian Y6, with Marina Panayiotou Y4 as the Juror. Their hard work and dedication, coupled with the guidance of their esteemed teachers, Ms Katerina Ralli and Ms Rosalind Scourti, paid off in a big way!

Although our team was all set to go head-to-head with The Grammar School in the semi-finals, we were pleasantly surprised to qualify automatically for the final round due to the withdrawal of our opponents. Undeterred, our team was determined to give it their all in the final round, which presented them with a new case and only three hours to prepare.

With their razor-sharp focus and unwavering determination, our team quickly immersed themselves in the challenge at hand, determined to come out on top. Their hard work and dedication paid off when they emerged victorious after a close final round. The judge commended their efforts and provided valuable feedback to help them in their future endeavours.

We are proud to announce that Lara Corkhill was awarded the 'Best Lawyer' award and invited to intern at one of the law firms sponsoring the event, an incredible recognition of her talent, hard work, and dedication.

We couldn't be prouder of our Senior Debate Team and their remarkable achievement. Their triumph is a testament to the power of hard work, focus, and determination, reminding us that we can overcome any challenge and move closer to achieving our goals.

Congratulations again to our remarkable team, and heartfelt thanks to their teachers for their unwavering support. You have made us proud!

Celebrating Excellence: Our Student Guangmei He receives a Commendation Certificate in Essay Competition

We extend our warmest congratulations to Guangmei He for this exceptional achievement.

The Northeastern University London Essay Competition received over 5000 submissions this year, making it a highly competitive event. The English School would like to extend its wishes to all students that participated and commend them for their dedication and hard work. We would also like to congratulate all the winners for their exceptional essays and for completing the rigorous selection process.

Recognizing the high calibre of entries, Northeastern University London has awarded several runner-up prizes in specific subjects where multiple students achieved the same mark. They also awarded Finalist (Special Commendation) awards to students who produced outstanding essays and narrowly missed out on winning.

Guangmei He's success in this competition is a testament to her talent, dedication, and hard work. We want to acknowledge the amazing teachers in the Economics department who guided her through the process of preparing her essay. The essay question that Guangmei He answered was "Economics: What are the most likely implications of the economic sanctions imposed on Russia?"

We encourage all our students to continue pursuing their academic interests and developing their skills. We believe that academic competitions provide an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their abilities, and commendations like this can be included in university personal statements to demonstrate passion, interest, and commitment to their chosen fields of study.

We are proud of Guangmei He, who participated in the competition. We hope this recognition will inspire her to continue pursuing her academic goals.

Y3 French Students and Chain of Change Host Successful Valentine’s Bake Sale for Make a Wish Foundation

he Bake Sale was a resounding success, spreading joy and happiness to all who participated. The Y3 French students worked hard to ensure that the baked goods were not only delicious but also visually appealing, with red hearts and other Valentine's Day-themed decorations adorning the treats. All the proceeds from the sale were donated to the Make a Wish Foundation, a charity that grants wishes to children with critical illnesses, bringing hope and positivity to their lives.

[School Name] is incredibly proud of its Y3 French students for their dedication to this cause and for being part of this year's successful Valentine's Bake Sale. The event would not have been possible without the help and support of Chain of Change, a non-profit organization that empowers students to create positive social change in their communities.

The Bake Sale was a heartwarming example of how young people can make a positive difference in the world. By coming together and working towards a common goal, the Y3 French students and Chain of Change showed that even small actions could have a significant impact. Through their efforts, they raised awareness and funds for the Make a Wish Foundation, helping to grant the wishes of critically ill children and their families.

We want to applaud the amazing our Year 3 French students and Chain of Change for a job well done.
Together, we can create a brighter future and make a positive difference in our community!
