Outstanding Results at the Nicosia Schools Cross-Country Competition
Our athletes delivered an exceptional performance at this year’s Nicosia Schools Cross-Country Competition, where The English School entered a team in every category – and all four teams finished on the podium.
This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work, commitment, and team spirit of our students, as well as the dedication of their coaches.
Senior Boys – 1st Place (Team Champions)
The Senior Boys dominated their race, securing 1st place overall in the team event.

Exceptional Success in the Regional Mathematics Competitions!
We are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of our students in the recent Regional Mathematics Competitions. The English School has achieved an unparalleled accomplishment, securing 5 Gold Medals across 6 levels, along with 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medals.
Even more impressively, around 40% of all students progressing from Nicosia schools to the next stage come from The English School—a testament to our students’ dedication and the strength of our Mathematics Enrichment Programme.

Senior Boys’ Volleyball Team
Our Senior Boys Volleyball team emerged victorious in our first game for the Nicosia Championship vs. Apostolos Markos Lyceum.
Our Senior Boys’ Volleyball Team emerged victorious in their first game of the Nicosia Championship against Apostolos Markos Lyceum.
Our boys exhibited enthusiasm, discipline, and high-level volleyball skills to secure a 2–0 victory and move on to the next round, where they will face Forum for a place in the final four.

Strong Performances at Inter-School Swimming Competition
Our school swim team delivered an excellent performance at the Inter-School Swimming Competition held on Wednesday at The Grammar School Nicosia. Nine of our students took part, racing in a range of events and proudly returning with a total of eight medals – one gold, two silver and five bronze.
All our swimmers showed determination, skill and sportsmanship throughout the day, competing against strong opposition and achieving impressive times in their respective age categories.

Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards – June 2025
It is with great pleasure that we announce the achievements of our students in the June 2025 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. These prestigious awards recognise exceptional performance in Cambridge examinations and place our students among the very best in Cyprus.
The award ceremony will be held on 10th December 2025 at The Pavilion, Nicosia, where students, families, and staff will come together to celebrate these remarkable accomplishments.

Traditional Founder’s Day Sports Morning Celebrations
On Thursday 6th November 2025, The English School proudly celebrated its traditional morning Founder’s Day Sports, bringing together students from all year groups for a vibrant and competitive programme of sporting activities. The campus was alive with energy as students took part in a series of Inter-House competitions, all held in honour of our Founder and the school’s enduring sporting tradition.
Throughout the morning, Heads of House led their teams with enthusiasm and determination, while students were supported and supervised by members of staff, Heads of Year and members of the Senior Leadership Team. The spirit of fair play, teamwork and house pride was evident in every match and event.
After a series of hard-fought contests, the following Houses emerged as champions:

- Year 2: Junior NBA Inter-House Competition – Wolseley
- Year 3: Boys/Girls Futsal Inter-House Competition – Boys: Kitchener | Girls: Newham

The programme concluded with the ever-popular Staff v Students Volleyball Match, where the students demonstrated impressive skill and teamwork, winning the first set to the delight of their peers.
Founder’s Day Sports once again highlighted the strength of our House system, the talent and commitment of our students, and the dedication of our staff.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, supported, organised or officiated during this special morning of sport.
Senior Boys Basketball Team Secures Place in Nicosia Top Four
We are delighted to share that our Senior Boys Basketball Team has earned a well-deserved place among the Top Four teams in the Nicosia Schools Basketball Competition.
In a dominant display of skill and teamwork, our boys achieved an impressive victory against Lykeio Akropolis, with a final score of 69–38. From the opening whistle to the final buzzer, the team demonstrated excellent discipline, determination, and cohesion on the court.
This achievement is a testament not only to the talent of our players, but also to their hard work in training and the guidance of their coaching staff. We congratulate the entire squad on this outstanding success and look forward to following their continued progress in the competition.

Inter-House Cross Country Competition Results
We are pleased to share the team and individual results for both the Boys’ and Girls’ races.
Boys’ Races – Thursday, 13th November
The Junior Boys’ 1500m race was held at 14:45. The Boys’ races were very competitive, with excellent performances.
Girls’ Races – Friday, 14th November
The Girls’ races saw excellent performances and strong team efforts throughout the competition.
Congratulations to all students who participated, showing resilience, determination, and sportsmanship. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the PE Department for their hard work in organising this successful event.
