Exploring AI in Education: Our Spanish Teacher’s Enriching Journey in Malta with Erasmus+

During the course, participants delved into AI's applications in education and its history dating back to the 1950s. On Monday, 24th of July, the diverse group of 12 participants from Poland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, and Germany attended a session on AI's impact on daily life, ethical considerations, and Microsoft's responsible AI principles. Fascinating examples of AI implementations, like Sophia the robo-citizen, were discussed.

On the second day, the course continued with discussions on verifying information in the age of AI-generated content. Participants had hands-on experiences with AI tools like ChatGPT, Bing, and Bard, emphasizing the importance of relying on trusted sources. They also explored AI's potential in transforming education, with insights from Patric Nilsson, co-founder of Dugga, a digital assessment tool.

Throughout the course, our teacher and participants remained enthusiastic about discovering AI's potential in education and its broader societal implications. Updates on their enriching experiences in Malta followed.

Eleni Protopapa a Year 7 student, has received admission to the esteemed French university, Sciences Po.

In her own words, Eleni Protopapa shares her experience and aspirations:

"Sciences Po has always been my top choice due to its unique model of gradual specialization, granting me the flexibility to carve my own academic path. With a focus on Social Sciences and Humanities and a minor in Europe-North America, my goal is to pursue a career in policymaking at a pan-European level. One of my core ambitions in studying in Central Europe is to achieve proficiency in all major EU languages. Although the primary language of instruction is English, I am excited about the opportunity to become fluent in both French and German during the course of my degree. I eagerly anticipate the chance to explore and challenge myself across various disciplines, especially during my third year, where I will be studying at one of Sciences Po's partner universities and undertaking an internship at an intergovernmental organization."

Exploring the Best of Germany: Unforgettable German Trip 2023

The primary objective of this trip was to provide students with a unique opportunity to practice the German language while exploring the places they've often heard about in their lessons. It was a chance for them to bring their textbooks to life and witness the richness of German culture firsthand.

The itinerary was crafted to offer a perfect blend of educational experiences and thrilling adventures. During their stay, the students had the privilege to visit one of Germany's top universities, where they gained insights into higher education and broadened their horizons for the future. They could witness iconic landmarks, such as magnificent monuments, which they had previously only seen in pictures or read about in books.

But it wasn't all about academics and sightseeing. The students also indulged in exhilarating escapades at Rhine Falls, Europe's largest waterfall, where they marvelled at the raw power of nature and created memories that will forever be etched in their hearts. They also had a blast at Europa Park, one of Europe's most renowned amusement parks, where they enjoyed thrilling rides and immersed themselves in the joy and excitement of the moment.

Of course, no trip to Germany would be complete without indulging in the rich Bavarian culture and savouring traditional German cuisine. The students tasted the vibrant Bavarian lifestyle and enjoyed authentic delicacies, connecting deeply with local customs and traditions.

The success of this trip would not have been possible without the participating students' outstanding behaviour and exemplary conduct. They showcased maturity, respect, and enthusiasm throughout the journey, making us immensely proud. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support and encouragement. Additionally, we express our sincerest thanks to the dedicated accompanying teachers, Mr Stylianos Andreou, Ms Elena Michaelides, Mr Ulker Uzuner, and Mr Christos Kilaniotis, for their commitment to creating a safe and enriching experience for the students.

To capture the essence of this incredible journey, a video compilation has been created, showcasing the students' adventures and the memories they made along the way. Sit back, relax, embark on this virtual voyage through Germany, and enjoy the sights and sounds of their remarkable trip.

As we bid farewell to German Trip 2023, we eagerly look forward to what the next year holds in store for us. The anticipation for future trips is already building as we strive to offer our students even more incredible experiences, educational insights, and unforgettable memories. Join us as we continue to explore the world and open doors to new horizons!
