Friday, 11th April 2025 -  The Economics Society is wrapping up the academic year with its much-anticipated Annual Pizza Party – a tradition that brings students together to celebrate the Society’s achievements and bid farewell to our Year 7 leaders.

We are excited to announce that the implementation phase of our DataScEd4CiEn pilot projects has officially begun!

We are delighted to share the exciting news that three out of the six students selected to represent Cyprus at the 42nd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO 2025) are from The English School, Nicosia. The prestigious competition will take place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from April 25 to April 30, 2025.

On Friday, 4th April 2025, students had the opportunity to explore the powerful intersection of technical ability and interpersonal effectiveness in a session titled “Skills Fusion: Blending Soft Skills with Hard Skills.”

We are delighted to announce that Anna Rouva, a Year 4 student, has been selected to represent Cyprus at the prestigious European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) 2025, which will be held in Kosovo from April 11 to April 17.

The English School Parade Team proudly participated in the 25th March celebrations in Nicosia, marking the occasion with grace, dedication, and school spirit.

Despite a limited preparation period following the Mock Exams, our students trained daily and represented the School with pride and discipline. There was a remarkable level of interest this year, particularly from younger students who joined the team with great enthusiasm.

This year, a dedicated group of our Year 6 students will be embarking on a life-changing CAS trip to Peru. As part of their commitment to service and global citizenship, they will be volunteering and engaging in meaningful community work abroad.

On Friday, 28th March 2025, the Economics Society hosted a highly engaging and thought-provoking lecture titled “The Impact of AI on the World of Work.” The event featured distinguished guest speaker Ms. Monica Odysseos, Head of the AI and Data Lab at Grant Thornton, whose expertise and passion for artificial intelligence captivated the audience.

On March 26th, our Year 2 students came together in a vibrant and meaningful initiative to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

On February 24-25, 2025, the DataScEd4CiEn Professional Development Course took place at The English School’s conference room. 

We’re thrilled to share the second edition of the DataScEd4CiEn Newsletter – a reflection of the inspiring work taking place across Europe as we embed data science into STEAM education for civic engagement and social justice.
