The English School is pleased to announce the success of its Year 7 students at the Cyprus Economics Olympiad 2026.
Five students were awarded medals in this year’s competition:

Michalis Vasiliades
The English School achieved the highest number of gold medals and the highest total number of medals among the 50 public and private schools that participated in the competition. The result is particularly notable, as only 10% of participating students were awarded a medal, while The English School students achieved a 100% medal success rate.
The students’ performance reflects their strong preparation, disciplined study, and clear interest in economics. Their achievement also reflects the academic support provided by the Economics Department.
Special thanks are extended to Mr Tryfonas Hadjichristoforou and Mr Demetris Moiseos for their guidance, encouragement, and subject expertise in preparing the students for the competition.
