The English School was represented at the 14th IASE Satellite Conference, held in Münster, Germany, from 30 September to 3 October 2025. Mr Michalis Gavrielides presented outcomes from the Erasmus+ DataScEd4CiEn project in a presentation entitled “Insights from a Pilot Program in Cyprus”.
The presentation described how Data Science can be integrated into STEAM education to support civic engagement, social justice and interdisciplinary learning.
The English School’s pilot professional development programme involved 46 teachers and included workshops, collaborative lesson planning and the use of digital tools such as CODAP and Gapminder. The presentation also referred to the Year 2 STEAM project “What is the True Cost of My Clothes?”, in which students analysed data on the fashion industry and produced upcycled design work.
The findings contributed to project discussions on teacher training, classroom implementation and the next stage of the DataScEd4CiEn work across partner countries.
