On Wednesday, 26th November, The English School hosted an Invitational Sports Tournament for four private schools: The English School, The American Academy Larnaca, The Grammar School Limassol and The Xenion School Paralimni.
Across the morning, around 200 Junior athletes took part in four competitions: Year 1 Boys’ Football, Years 2–3 Boys’ Football, Years 1–3 Girls’ Volleyball and Years 1–3 Junior NBA Basketball. The atmosphere throughout was one of sportsmanship, friendship and healthy competition, with students enjoying a full programme of closely contested matches.
Although light showers meant that the courts became slippery and the final round of Junior NBA Basketball fixtures had to be abandoned, most of the matches in all sports were able to go ahead as planned. At the time play was stopped, The English School was in 1st place in the basketball competition.
Our teams performed very well across all events, achieving the following results:
