On Friday, 31 October 2025, the Economics Department welcomed Mr Hadjivassiliou, CEO of Globalworth, as the guest speaker for its weekly meeting. His talk bridged classroom theory with practice, offering students a clear view of how economic principles are applied in real-world decision-making at the highest level.
Drawing on his leadership experience, Mr Hadjivassiliou shared deep insights into the day-to-day life of a CEO—from setting strategy and managing risk to building teams and navigating change. He also unpacked the role of regulations and the workings of the London Stock Exchange (LSE), highlighting how regulatory frameworks shape corporate behaviour, market confidence, and long-term value.
Students and staff engaged in a lively Q&A, exploring leadership choices, market dynamics, and the responsibilities of listed companies. We are grateful to Mr Hadjivassiliou for an inspiring and practical session that brought economics to life.
