Founder’s Day Sports – Saturday 18th October 2025

The Founder’s Day Sports events took place alongside The English School BBQ on Saturday, 18th October 2025. This event has evolved to include some Inter-House Competitions, a student-parent tennis tournament, and a Student Council Futsal Tournament, in addition to the traditional student vs. ESOBGA competitions.

The Student/Parents Doubles Tennis Tournament was organised with the help of Yiannos Ioannides of Max Academy. After a fun afternoon of tennis, the event was won by Vasilis and George Rologis.

In terms of Inter-House Sport, we had a Year 1 Football Tournament with students from all Houses participating. In the end, a team made up of Newham footballers stood out, winning a competitive game. Our girls competed in basketball and had a great time battling it out, with mixed-House teams competing.

The traditional Students vs ESOBGA matches took place in Hockey, Football and Volleyball. The Hockey match ended up being a mixed match, with students, graduates and other hockey enthusiasts combining to play together. The Football and Volleyball matches were more competitive, with the Students winning the Football and ESOBGA dominating in Volleyball.

The evening finished with a well-organised futsal tournament organised by the Student Council and kindly sponsored by ESPGA.
