Biography
Meet Marilena Neocleous – a member of the Greek Department at The English School since 2011, where she currently holds the post of Assistant Head of the Greek Department.
She completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Cyprus with excellence.
Marilena has served as Coordinator of Greek as a Second/Foreign Language, where she has supported non-native students, ensuring high-quality teaching and assessment for learners of all levels.
As a member of our flagship Teaching and Learning Community (TLC) since its founding, Marilena has had an active role in designing and delivering professional development on teaching best practices.
She has held the title of Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) for four consecutive years. In this capacity, she has been offering in-school and online teacher training on leveraging Microsoft Tools to enhance effective technology integration in class.
Most recently, she completed her National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT), motivated by her dedication to empowering both staff and students. She is dedicated to fostering a safe, positive learning environment that builds self-worth in every student.
