The first round of the traditional Salakian Hockey Trophy between The English School and ESOBGA took place recently, bringing together players young and old for an enjoyable afternoon of sport and camaraderie.
Played in a wonderful spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and friendship, the match served as a fitting tribute to Mr Salakian, in whose memory the competition is held. With the weather on their side, everyone involved enjoyed the occasion, both on and off the field.
The game was closely contested, with both teams showing determination, skill and enthusiasm throughout, making for an exciting and memorable first round.
The second round of the competition will take place in April, when the two sides meet again for the next chapter of this valued and much-loved fixture.
