Strong Performances at Inter-School Swimming Competition

Our school swim team delivered an excellent performance at the Inter-School Swimming Competition held on Wednesday at The Grammar School Nicosia. Nine of our students took part, racing in a range of events and proudly returning with a total of eight medals – one gold, two silver and five bronze.
All our swimmers showed determination, skill and sportsmanship throughout the day, competing against strong opposition and achieving impressive times in their respective age categories.

Kutoglu Ersoy Birkan (Year 3)

• 11th place – 50m Freestyle (31,47 sec)
• 3rd place – Bronze medal – 50m Breaststroke (42,75 sec)

Neofytidi Eleanthi (Year 1)

• 7th place – 50m Freestyle (35,37 sec)
• 3rd place – Bronze medal – 50m Butterfly (39,60 sec)

Melina Loizou (Year 3)

Zubakov Nikita (Year 3)

• 2nd place – Silver medal – 50m Breaststroke (42,19 sec)
• 2nd place – Silver medal – 50m Backstroke (37,75 sec)

Papachristoforou Ellie (Year 1)

• 9th place – 50m Breaststroke (54,53 sec)
• 3rd place – Bronze medal – 50m Backstroke (48,47 sec)

Georgiou Melita (Year 2)

• 3rd place – Bronze medal – 50m Breaststroke (42,06 sec)
• 3rd place – Bronze medal – 100m Individual Medley (1:28,23)

Antoniades Stynos (Year 1)

• 8th place – 100m Individual Medley (1:37,60)
• 11th place – 50m Butterfly (45,93 sec)

George Mannaris (Year 1)

• 6th place – 100m Individual Medley (1:22,19)
• 1st place – Gold medal – 50m Backstroke (35,57 sec)

In addition, our swimmers also competed in the 4x50m Mixed Freestyle Relay, achieving a strong 4th place with a time of 2:15,68.

This was a fantastic team effort, and all our students should be very proud of their achievements. We warmly congratulate every swimmer who represented the school and thank their coach, Mr Andreas Sizopoulos, for his dedication and support.
