On August 29, 2024, one of our distinguished students, Vasiliki Christofi, experienced a unique educational journey by visiting the European Commission in Brussels through the European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) Program.

On December 12th, our Junior Ambassadors participated in an enriching bonding event alongside students from Lefkara Gymnasium and a group of Turkish Cypriot students. This dynamic gathering was designed to foster collaboration and teamwork ahead of our upcoming trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on January 26th, 2024.

On the 16th of December 2024, students from The English School’s Music Department participated in the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra’s annual Xmas Gala Concert, held at the prestigious Strovolos Municipal Theatre. The event brought together talented young musicians from across the island for an unforgettable evening of festive music.

Nearly 80 of our teachers, students, parents and ALUMNI proudly represented The English School and participated in the 5K Corporate Team event at the Quantum Nicosia Marathon, held on Sunday, December 8th, 2024.

On Friday, 29th November 2024, the Physics Department had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Andrea Lausi, the Scientific Director of SESAME Synchrotron, to deliver an inspiring lecture to our Year 7 students! 

Eleven Year 6 Business students from The English School, accompanied by their teacher, visited Ocean Basket at the Mall of Cyprus for an enriching educational experience.

We are thrilled to announce the exceptional achievements of our students in the recent Regional Mathematics Competitions! A total of 31 students from The English School have progressed to the Nationals, marking a significant milestone for our school. Even more astonishing, we secured first place in 5 out of the 6 levels, demonstrating the incredible talent and dedication of our students.

On Friday, 29th November, Year 5 students at The English School attended a special presentation introducing them to the English A-Level options available for their future studies. The event was organized by the English Department and featured insightful presentations from Year 6 students currently pursuing English A-Level courses.

As part of an ongoing initiative to showcase diverse career paths to our students, the Year 4 cohort recently had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Eleni Christoforou (ESL '13), an esteemed alumna of The English School and a PhD-holder in Marine Biology, currently working with the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI).

We are thrilled to celebrate Nayiri Mahdessian of Year 3 Black for her commendation in the prestigious Stephen Spender Prize. Nayiri was recognized for her outstanding translation from French to English of the poignant poem "Mon Premier Souvenir" by Michael Vidon, which beautifully captures the unique and irreplaceable bond shared between a grandchild and their grandparents.
