Our Year 6 students were recently treated to an insightful presentation on living and studying in Europe. Organized by Ms Vanessa Crambert (Head of the MFL department), the session was a great success, thanks to the contributions of Stalo Achilleos and Stephanie Constantinides.

With the UK's exit from the European Union, the demand for European language skills is expected to increase. Foreign language skills are crucial in enhancing employability and mobility, and multilingualism also boosts the competitiveness of the EU economy. According to a report by the European Commission in 2017, approximately one-fifth to a quarter of jobs in the EU required an advanced level of foreign language skills.

On March 22, 2023, The English School's JA Aquafy student group had the honour of hosting Mr Anastasios Pavlos Leventis, President of the Board of Directors of the A.G. Leventis Foundation, and Ms Loukia Loizou Hatzigavriil, Director of the Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation in Cyprus, at our School.

The English School Dominates Nicosia Basketball Schools Competition
Our basketball team emerged victorious in the Nicosia Basketball Schools Competition, finishing in 1st place. The final match against Engkomi Sports Schools was a thrilling experience for the team and their fans, as they won with a score of 45-39.

 
Year 1 Students Bring School to 8th Place in World Maths Day Competition
Our Year 1 students have made us proud by participating in the World Maths Day 2023 Competition, the largest online maths competition in the world. 
Junior Girls’ Basketball Team Wins Second Match in Nicosia Competition
On Monday, March 20th, 2023, our Junior Girls’ Basketball team triumphed over the sports school of Engomi in the final four Nicosia basketball competition. 
ESOBGA Team Wins 2nd Round of Salakian Trophy
On Saturday, the 18th of March, the second leg of the Salakian Trophy took place with the old boys and the young boys and girls going head to head in a match that was highly anticipated by both teams.
