During our Year 5 assembly yesterday, our students celebrated their successes in the recent Inter-House Athletics Competition. Medals were awarded to those who had achieved top places in various events, and the atmosphere was one of excitement and pride.

Two of the students who received medals were Giorgos Agapiou and Nedi Avraam. Giorgos won 1st place in the Shot Put, while Nedi came 2nd in the Javelin. Both students were applauded by their classmates and teachers, and Mr Lambon, who presented the medals, offered his congratulations.

The Inter-House Athletics Competition is an annual event at our School, and it is always highly anticipated by students and staff alike. The competition involves a range of track and field events, such as sprints, relays, long jump, high jump, shot put, and javelin. Each house has a team of students who compete against the other houses to earn points, and the winning house is awarded the coveted Inter-House Athletics trophy.

For Year 5 students, the competition is a chance to show off their athletic abilities and work together as a team. It is also an opportunity to develop their physical skills and improve their fitness. Throughout the competition, students are encouraged to support and cheer on their teammates, as well as show good sportsmanship towards their opponents.

The medal presentation was a proud moment for Giorgos, Nedi, and all of the Year 5 students who took part in the Inter-House Athletics Competition. It was a reminder of the hard work and dedication that goes into preparing for and competing in sports events. The students are already looking forward to next year's competition and are eager to continue building their skills and achieving success.

We believe that sports and physical activity play an important role in a child's education. Not only do they promote physical health and well-being, but they also help to develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. We are proud of all of our students who took part in the Inter-House Athletics Competition, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow and succeed in all aspects of their lives.
