Exploring Careers: Marine Biologist Alumni Inspires Year 4 Students
As part of an ongoing initiative to showcase diverse career paths to our students, the Year 4 cohort recently had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Eleni Christoforou (ESL '13), an esteemed alumna of The English School and a PhD-holder in Marine Biology, currently working with the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI).
Dr. Christoforou captivated students with her journey from her days at The English School to her current role in marine biology. She shared invaluable insights into her academic and professional experiences, highlighting the challenges and rewards of pursuing a career in the sciences.
Her engaging talk not only provided a glimpse into the fascinating world of marine biology but also emphasized the importance of passion and perseverance in achieving one's goals. Year 4 students were inspired by her story and left with a greater appreciation for the vast array of career opportunities available to them.
This assembly is part of a broader series aimed at exposing our students to different career paths and encouraging them to dream big. We believe such interactions with accomplished alumni play a vital role in shaping our students' aspirations and broadening their horizons.
A big thank you to Dr. Christoforou for taking the time to give back to her school community and inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators.
Stay tuned for more exciting assemblies as we continue to bring diverse professionals to share their journeys with our students.
