Year 4 Geography Field Trip to Switzerland
We are excited to share the highlights of the Year 4 Geography field trip to Switzerland, which kicked off this week with an array of educational and adventurous activities.
Day 1: Exploring Saas Fee
The trip began with a visit to Saas Fee, where students studied the impact of altitude on vegetation. The day also included an exhilarating trip up to the Fee glacier, providing a firsthand look at glacial formations and their significance in geographical studies.
Day 2: Discovering Hohsaas
Day two featured a journey to Hohsaas, where students sketched glacial landforms, enhancing their understanding of geological processes. The day continued with a picturesque picnic at Kruezboden Lake, followed by a refreshing walk to the beautiful waterfall in Saas Balen.
Day 3: Analyzing Mattmark Dam
The third day involved a visit to the Mattmark Dam, where students measured the discharge of glacial streams and analyzed the environmental impact of the dam. The day ended on a fun note with a mini golf challenge, bringing excitement and camaraderie among the students.
This field trip provided an invaluable hands-on learning experience, allowing students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings. We are proud of their enthusiasm and dedication to learning about geography and the natural world.
