Women in Science 2022

We were honoured to welcome our esteemed guest speaker Dr Stella Kafka to the English School Astronomy Club event "Women in Science".

Part of the International Astronomical Union’s Women and Girls in Astronomy month. The event was hybrid, and we had fantastic attendance, 58 students (15 at school and 43 online) had the opportunity to interact with Dr Kafka who was speaking from Boston, Massachusetts. 

Dr Stella, who is of Greek origin is the Executive Director - American Meteorological Society. This is one of the oldest scientific associations on the world. She is actively leading the fight against global warming, one of the biggest issues of our planet. Her talk was very interesting and inspiring.
