Outstanding Performance by The English School Athletes in the Senior Boys and Girls Nicosia Athletics Competition
The English School is proud to announce the exceptional performance of our students in the Senior Boys and Girls Nicosia Athletics Schools Competition. The competition, which was held on March 24th, saw our athletes compete against other schools in the district and showcase their incredible talent and hard work.
Our students performed outstandingly, securing top positions in various events. In the Senior Boys category, Christos Economides clinched 1st place in the 110m Hurdles, while Nikolas Lees took 1st place in the Pole Vault. Evangelos Petasis secured 1st place in the 200m event, demonstrating his exceptional speed and agility.
In the Senior Girls category, Artemis Spyridoula Riga emerged as the star performer, taking 1st place in the 100m Hurdles event and 2nd place in the 4x400m relay, along with Andrea Ioanna Georgiou, Antonia Rodhia, and Ioanna Lees. Steleana Anastasiou also demonstrated her prowess in Javelin, securing 3rd place for the Senior Girls' team.
The English School athletes continued to impress, with Pavlos Achilleos securing the 2nd place in the Senior Boys 800m event, Georgios Vasilopoulos securing 3rd place in the Senior Boys High Jump, Andreas Panayides securing the 4th place in the Senior Boys Hammer event, and Chrysanthi Rokopou taking the 5th place in the Senior Girls 800m event.
