NICOSIA, June 22, 2024 — In an exhilarating display of innovation and teamwork, The English School's Team ‘ANEMOS’ emerged victorious at the F1 in Schools Cyprus Nationals 2024 held this Saturday. The team clinched the prestigious National Champions Trophy, setting a remarkable precedent for future competitions.

The English School has long been recognized for its commitment to excellence in education and extracurricular achievements. This victory further cemented its reputation, as Team ‘ANEMOS’ showcased their exceptional engineering, aerodynamics, and race strategy skills.

Team ANEMOS is comprised of talented students: Giorgos Lois, Antrea Antonia Mavrommatis, Celine Yiasemides, Alexandra Violari, Sophia Panayides, and Emilia Karmioti. Their collaborative effort and innovative thinking were key to their success at the national level.

The trophy presentation was a highlight of the event. Dr Antonis Kirmizis, a board member of The English School, Mr Christos Karpis, a distinguished alumnus currently with Scuderia Ferrari, and Mr Stuart Walker, the Headmaster of The English School, honoured the winners. The presence of such notable figures underscored the significance of the competition and the remarkable achievements of the students involved.

As the newly crowned national champions, Team ANEMOS is gearing up to represent Cyprus at the world finals of the F1 in Schools competition. The venue for this prestigious international event has yet to be announced, but anticipation is already building.
