The English School Students Take Europe by Storm at Euromath and Euroscience Conference 2023
The English School students have once again made a name for themselves internationally. They participated in the Euromath and Euroscience Conference in Krakow, Poland, from the 11th to the 15th of March.
With 36 students in attendance, the team represented our school with distinction, showcasing their projects in front of peers and teachers from all over Europe. They participated in various categories, including project presentations, poster competitions, and Math Theatre.
Our students demonstrated their excellence and ingenuity by working methodically towards fulfilling their group aims and objectives. They maximized the potential of their team members and made the best use of team resources, which resulted in some excellent projects and scores. The efforts of our students paid off, as they brought home a number of prestigious awards.
One of the most significant awards went to Elena Potamiti, who won the second prize in the Mathematics poster competition with her innovative poster titled ‘Football and Maths’. This is a proud moment for our School, as Elena's award highlights the calibre of education that the school provides.
In another win six of our students were awarded the second prize for their theatrical act named ‘Irrationals’. Aglaia Patsalides, Andreas Anastasi, Anastasia Tanteles, Maria Christina Economides, Theodora Constantinou and Elena Potamiti put their dramatic talents to good use, successfully representing us on stage and giving it the opportunity to participate in the Math Theatre category for the first time.
Our students' achievements did not stop there. Four of our students, Gerasimos Georgios Panayides, Garry Petrossian, Chariton Charitonos and Elena Potamiti, were also awarded the coveted ethos awards. This recognition is a testament to the student's hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence.
Our students were supported by a team of dedicated teachers from three different departments - Mr Michalis Gavrielides (Math Teacher), Ms Chrysovalanti Christoforidou (Math Teacher), Ms Lena Kasiou (Drama Teacher) and Mr Gregoris Demetriou (Physics Teacher). The teachers collaborated to ensure that the students had the opportunity to participate in as many categories of the competition as possible.
The English School is extremely proud of its students and their accomplishments at the Euromath and Euroscience Conference. The school's continued commitment to excellence in academics and extracurricular activities is reflected in its student's achievements.
Congratulations to all our students who participated in the conference and to the teachers who supported and guided them every step of the way.
