The Physics Department would like to congratulate our brilliant young physicists on their outstanding achievements in this year’s Physics Olympiads. Our students demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity, and enthusiasm across three prestigious competitions.

1. British Physics Olympiad – Junior Physics Challenge
Held at school on the 8th of May and marked by the BPhO, this competition inspires students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world contexts and novel problems. With over 12000 studentts from 273 schools taking part in this competition worldwide, we are happy to announce the achievement of our nine Year 4 medal winners:
Gold: Anthony Georgallis, Panayiotis Charitou, Andreas Zangoulos, Christos Kontopoulos
Silver: Sophia Cagnetti, Stavros Kouyialis, Anna Rouva, Ioannis Hatjantonas
Bronze: Antonia Theofanous


2. British Physics Olympiad – Year 2 Physics Challenge
This competition was also held at school on the 8th of May. It encourages a fresh perspective on physics, treating it as both logical and fascinating. With over 6000 students from 81 schools worldwide taking part, we are thrilled to report a 100% Gold achievement rate from our 14 Year 2 students:
Gold: Novak Simon Vujanovic, Siddharth Raja, Stephan Jojo Panayiotou Boadu, Kyriacos Diaouris, Antonis Michaelides, Georgios Giannopoulos, Nicolas Paschalis, Harry Kallis, Christophoros Stavrou, Maria Ellie Kouloumbri, Ersoy Birkan Kutoglu, Michelle Charalambous, Stella Anastasi, Maria Christodoulou

3. Cyprus Physics Olympiad (Gymnasio Level)
This national competition tests students across all lower secondary school years. We are pleased to congratulate our medalists:
Year 1 – Alexandros Vrakas: Silver
Year 2 – Andreas Savva: Bronze
Year 3 – Georgios Lioudakis: Silver


We are incredibly proud of all our students who participated and look forward to supporting their continued success in physics and beyond.
