A-Level Biology Students Dive into Fieldwork to Study Ecosystems and Biodiversity

Our A-Level Biology students recently participated in an enriching field trip focused on exploring ecosystems and biodiversity in a natural setting. 

This annual outing, a cornerstone of our biology curriculum, took place along a rocky shore and at a freshwater stream near Stroumpi in Paphos. Students engaged in a range of hands-on activities, such as quadrat sampling and transect lines, to analyze the distribution of plant species, and closely observed animal life to identify specific adaptations that enable organisms to thrive in their unique environments.

Through practical application of classroom concepts, the students gained valuable insights into population dynamics and ecological interactions. This immersive experience offered them a firsthand look at real-world biological processes, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the complexities of natural ecosystems.
