Resources

The Geography Department is a very well-resourced department. As well as an extensive collection of geography books and journals in the departmental l Library we also have a variety of journals and periodicals available in the Department. All the above and fieldwork equipment were all kept in the departmental suite. Currently, the department is moving to a new location.

The Department itself subscribes to the following journals/periodicals.

The GA magazine: Three issues a year. The Geographical Association magazine contains articles advice information and all the latest geography education news from the GA and more.

Teaching geography: Three issues a year. Teaching Geography is published by the GA and provides a forum for sharing practical strategies for teaching geography; critical reflection on geography teaching and learning; curriculum innovation and change in geography.

Geography –An international Journal: This is the Geographical Associations’ flagship journal and reflects the thriving and dynamic nature of the discipline with contributors including academics working in geography departments in higher education institutions across the globe with specialist teachers of the subject in schools, academies and colleges. The journal spans the breadth of human and physical, geography and encourages debate about curriculum development and other pedagogical issues.

In addition, we have computers both in the departmental suite for teacher use and in the Departmental teaching rooms which are used for classroom teaching. Our classrooms are equipped with computers and projectors to facilitate the use of ICT in our lessons.

Fieldwork equipment: The department has through the years built up a whole range of fieldwork recording equipment that is kept in the departmental suite.
