'We Care We Help', Hair donation & Bone Marrow Registry
Care needs: Commitment, Attitude, Respect, Effort
On the 11th February 2016 the English School, “We Care We Help” Club in co-operation with the Karaiskakio Foundation are organising a hair donation and a Bone Marrow Donor Registry at the Headmaster’s former residence on the school premises, from 9:00 a.m. to 13:30 p.m.
The event was held under the auspices of the First Lady, Mrs Andri Anastasiadi and it will be open to public.
In total we had 51 girls who volunteered to have their hair cut (20 cm long) to make wigs for children with cancer. Moreover, 30 boys have offered to shave their head to show their support to cancer patients.
Well done to our students, who prove once more how sensitive they are and how much they care for their fellow people!
Many thanks to Toni & Guy Hair Salon for sponsoring the event with eight Hair Stylists and to the Swiss Cottage for offering snack and drinks.
Frank Ferre from Kiss FM will be the Musical Producer during the day.
A number of other people between the ages of 18-45 years old registered to be a bone marrow donor. The procedure was very simple, as with a new method, they will collect saliva instead of blood.
The event was broadcasted live from the school.
