The English School
On Tuesday, 7th February 2017, our year 2 students had an opportunity to hear a lecture on Immigration.  It was very enlightening.  The Students enjoyed it immensely.

We were very happy to welcome Ms. Thekla Demetriadou from the Cyprus Ombudsman Office on the 7th February 2017.

Our Year 2 students, were very interested in hearing about the historical background of immigrations and the current condition of Greek and Cypriot immigrants.

Moreover, as a representative of the Cyprus Ombudsman Office she presented the current role of Cyprus as a host country, describing its role and issues around being a host country.  “Racism” towards immigrants was raised and discussed.

Our students had the opportunity to ask questions and to discuss any queries they had further.  The presentation was conducted in a very positive atmosphere and this knowledge obtained can be applied not only in their Greek studies but in other subjects as well.

We would like to thank Ms. Demetriadou for her time.  Our students really enjoyed the lecture.
