Salakian Trophy 2024: 1st Leg Match Recap

Last Saturday, 14th December 2024, the first leg of the annual Salakian Trophy hockey game took place at our school’s hockey pitch. This traditional match, held in memory of Luther Salakian, pits the English School (E.S.) team against ESOBGA in a spirited two-legged competition.

We were honoured by the presence of Ms. Sylvia Salakian, adding a special touch to the event. The game was filled with thrilling moments as the enthusiasm and determination of the young E.S. team met the skill and experience of the ESOBGA players.

Despite the E.S. team’s great effort, the match concluded with a 5-3 victory for ESOBGA. Special congratulations go to Y2 student Vicken Khasho and Y4 students Kyriakos Zapitis and Giorgos Loizou, each scoring a goal for the School team.

Looking ahead, the second leg of the Salakian Trophy will take place in early April 2025. We encourage all hockey enthusiasts to support the team and join our hockey practices as we aim to overcome the 2-goal deficit and fight for the Trophy!
