Raising Awareness about Poverty to commemorate the UN Anti-Poverty Day on 17th October

Year 5 Global Perspectives Students  raising awareness about  the causes and consequences of poverty,  the difference between relative and absolute poverty ,the aims of  Fairtrade, and how we can all play a part to help alleviate poverty both locally and globally by being active and responsible citizens. Assemblies were presented to both Year 4 and Year 5.

Students also explained the range of events that are taking place next week in order to mark Anti- Poverty Week which will include a Non Uniform day, a Fairtrade Display, and a sale of merchandise by local  NGO’s who are working hard to alleviate poverty, including Vagoni Agapis and The Sophia Foundation for Children.
