Pancyprian Badminton Competition: A Successful Day for our Athletes

The Pancyprian Badminton Competition took place on the 1st of February 2023 at the Archiepiscopou Makariou Γ’ Gymnasium at Platy. 

The competition saw the participation of several talented athletes from various schools across the island.

The results were fantastic, with Nicolas Maroudias winning the gold medal in the Junior Boys category and Efie Zanou bringing home a silver medal in the Junior Girls category. The athletes gave their best, and some even made it to the quarterfinals and second rounds of the tournament.

Efie Zanou played an excellent game and made it to the final. Her performance was admirable despite losing the tie break set 21-15 and the total score of 2-1. On the other hand, Nicolas Maroudias had an exceptional performance in the final and emerged as the junior school champion for 2023 with a total score of 2-0.

Other students who participated in the competition included Andreas Papandreou and Demetris Iasonos from Year 3, Mariza Zembyla from Year 3, Georgios Pouyioutas from Year 4, and Paris Sokratous from Year 1.

In conclusion, it was a great day for all the athletes who participated in the Pancyprian Badminton Competition. Their hard work and determination paid off, and we are proud of their achievements.
