Hockey Week: 2nd-6th April 2024

In an exciting development for our school community, hockey has made a triumphant return to our Afternoon Games program this year. Spearheaded by the dedicated coaching of Neophytos Ioannou, our Junior Boys are taking to the field on Thursdays, while our Junior Girls are honing their skills every Friday. But the enthusiasm doesn't end there; hockey aficionados can also participate in extracurricular activities on Wednesdays.

Our goal with this initiative is to support Coach Neophytos and encourage more interest in hockey at our school. With a particular focus on our Year 1 students, who have been diligently mastering the sport during their Physical Education lessons, we aim to cultivate a passion for hockey that extends beyond the field.

To celebrate this resurgence and nurture talent, we have meticulously planned an exhilarating lineup of activities for Hockey Week:

Year 1 Hockey Development - Drills and Mini-Games

• Tuesday, 2nd April: Periods 1 & 2: 1 White and 1 Yellow
• Tuesday, 2nd April: Periods 5 & 6: 1 Jade and 1 Red
• Thursday, 4th April: Periods 5 & 6: 1 Black and 1 Green

Inter-House Hockey Tournament

• Thursday, 4th April: Junior Boys
• Friday, 5th April: Junior Girls

Salakian Hockey Trophy - 2nd Round

• Saturday, 6th April: The English School Vs ESOBGA

Led by the expert guidance of the PE Department and Coach Neophytos Ioannou, these activities promise an immersive and engaging experience for all participants.

Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Cyprus Hockey Association and ESOBGA, hoping they will grace us with their presence and expertise during these events.
