Match Report: APOP Polis U15 vs The English School U15 - 1-2 Victory!
The English School Girls U15 football team has kicked off the season with a strong performance, claiming an impressive 2-1 victory away at APOP Polis. Despite a challenging start, conceding an early goal that left them trailing 1-0, the team showed resilience and determination.
The equalizer came courtesy of attacking midfielder Nayia Stephanou, who scored a brilliant goal to get the team back on track. With momentum on their side, the English School girls dominated much of the play, pressing the Polis team back and creating chances. Their persistence paid off in the final minutes when star striker Kyveli Matsi struck a stunning long-range goal with only four minutes left, putting them ahead 2-1.
As the clock wound down, goalkeeper Maria Christodoulou made a crucial double save, sealing the win and securing three valuable points for her team.
The English School U15s are now set to play their next match against AEK Larnaca on Sunday, 10th November, at 12:00, at The English School. We encourage everyone to come out and show their support!
